The Securities and Commodities Authority was established in the year 2000 with financial and administrative independence and executive powers necessary to discharge its tasks. The authority made adequate efforts to strengthen the legislative structure of the securities market through issuing regulations and instructions that ensure the development of the organizational and supervisory framework of the listed joint-stock companies and other companies in the securities field. It has also launched some controls that would contribute positively to enhance the investors' trust in the Authority. Mission to protect investors and enhance the principles of sound and fair practices and to improve the efficiency of UAE capital markets through the development of the necessary legislation, the enhancement of supervisory regulations and the development of investment and legal awareness.
