Additional Information

Emirates Global Aluminium is the world’s largest ‘premium aluminium’ producer and the biggest industrial company in the United Arab Emirates outside oil and gas. Aluminium is among the world’s most versatile metals, and our more than 350 global customers transform it into products that make modern life possible – from smartphones and building materials to food packaging and car parts. We employ more than 8,000 people and supply customers in more than 60 countries.
We have been developing our business for decades. Today, through EGA, the UAE is the fifth largest aluminium-producing country in the world. Our aluminium is the biggest UAE-made export after oil and gas, bringing in billions of dollars of export revenue annually.
We produce the highest volume of value added products – or ‘premium aluminium’ - of any company. This means that EGA is a global industry leader in creating additional value from its primary aluminium.
Our workforce includes over 1,200 UAE Nationals. We aspire to be measured amongst the world’s leading metals and mining companies in meeting our environmental and social responsibilities, and we are proud of our innovative culture. We have used homegrown technology for every expansion at our smelters since the 1990s and retrofitted all our older production lines.
EGA owns and operates aluminium smelters at Al Taweelah in Abu Dhabi and Jebel Ali in Dubai, and we are currently expanding upstream and internationally. Our wholly-subsidiary, Guinea Alumina Corporation, is building a bauxite mine and export infrastructure in the Republic of Guinea, and in the UAE, we are building an alumina refinery that will be only the second in the Middle East.
EGA was formed in 2014 through the merger of Dubai Aluminium and Emirates Aluminium. It is equally owned by Mubadala Investment Company of Abu Dhabi and the Investment Corporation of Dubai.
